Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival, Toni Droscher

PSAT staff researched and wrote a comprehensive chapter on nearshore aspects of salmon recovery for the groundbreaking Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Draft Plan that was submitted by Shared Strategy to NOAA Fisheries and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on June 28, 2005.

PSAT's 246-page chapter, Regional Nearshore and Marine Aspects of Salmon Recovery in Puget Sound, asserts that our region's salmon recovery efforts must include attention to nearshore and marine environments.

Shared Strategy's salmon recovery plan identifies strategies and actions that will help restore salmon runs in a cost-effective, practical manner that will work with the economic and social needs of 15 watersheds around the Sound. Please visit Shared Strategy's web pages to view the entire plan and to learn more about its implementation.
